Dennis Storm - 69 bra's unclipped in 60 seconds - legend

Dennis Storm is a legend.  He holds the Guinness World Record for unhooking the most bra’s with one hand in a minute with an astonishing 69 bra unclips!!  That’s 1.15 bra’s PER SECOND!!!  Just think of the practical applications for this?  Okay there are not many but I have one!  If he was at a lingerie fashion show he could pretty much run past all of the models and unclip all of their bra’s without them even knowing he was there or that it happened.  He’d be like the phantom bra unclipper!

It’s a pretty weird feeling seeing things that were boxed up in october 2007, a flood of emotion – good/bad. It was a difficult period of time in my little life as it was the ending of a long term relationship and the beginning of a great adventure, a number of items were joint (take a hand written recipe book) which I quite enjoyed flicking through remembering the good parts of the relationship. This takes me to the deep relisation that our lives are brief moments squished together with some relating and others completely outside of normal living circumstances. I would love to be back to the house I/we had in 07 with all the gear (mostly sold or given away) but the reality is I am sitting in a different one with new and different objects surrounding me, objects which mean very different things to the ones that were in the boxes, perhaps even these objects from a former life are irrelevant to my new one.

The past few years have been a blur of experiences, a massive amount of them are ones that I will not have the pleasure of having again and others that frankly I’m glad I wont have too but they all make up the new character that J has become. Normality has sets back in and I am actually enjoying it, owning a car, buying useful items, not having to worry about being able to carry everything I own. These things are settling to the mind.

Perhaps what I am saying is that today I feel like the book of the past few years has closed and a new opened. I think and plan in 6 month chunks with an overlaying 2 year focus (and a master life ideology above that) the last 2 year period is finished, bring on the new one

However I have not adjusted well to working/time off. Now maybe it’s just over here in Europe/Ireland, but I dislike certain things.

I’ve always been a man for give and take. You scratch my back, I scratch yours. But here it seems they want a full body massage with no offer of one for me. Most recent case, I got a phone call Wednesday afternoon from my Doctor. He was concerned about recent test results and wanted me to go back Friday morning to get more blood tests. I informed my boss and it ended up with me having to work til 6.30pm Wednesday and Thursday (usual finishing time of 5pm) so that I could visit the Doctor on Friday morning.

I raised the point about sick days, but apparently I don’t look sick and am not actually sick until the Doctor proves I am… Guilty until proved innocent? I don’t know, but personally this is a bit off the mark.

Now I’m always at work early (have to get public transport) and leave just after 5 each day. Only usually take about 30-45mins for lunch instead of an hour. Haven’t had to work late but was willing to do it when needed.  So would have thought having a couple hours off in the morning would not have bothered, as often towards end of quarter you have to work a few more hours, so it would work itself out.

Maybe it’s jsut after working in the workshops, or maybe more to do with the Kiwi attitude. That as long as you don’t abuse it, there is a mutual agreement that if you let me do this, I’ll help you when you need it.

So, those who do or have worked in an office, am I completely mistaken, and this is normal office life? Or are these people just the dicks I think they are?

Either way, bring back the workshop!

Everyone loves Google maps but not as much as your garden variety burglar.  In the past they had to engage in the risky practise of scoping out properties security and entry/exit points to plan their burglary operations.  Now they have a birds eye view of every property in their town.  They can perfectly plan their burglaries, available blind spots, whether they can 3 point turn their Burgle Van™ or whether they should use the Getaway Car™ option and burgle on foot and charge down a bank or some such with the loot.

During this time I have become acutely aware of how useful this finger is.  It’s probably the best finger to break out of all of them because it’s actually fairly useless.

Use #1:
Typing the letter W on your QWERTY keyboard.  I have had to train myself to use my middle finger to do this and have been doing so for so long now I imagine I won’t be able to convince my brain to use my ring finger to perform this function once it heals!

Use #2:
Holding a wedding ring.  While not physically essential, apparently you have to wear a wedding ring on this finger or your wife will waste you.

Use #3:
And this is THE MOST important and most taken for granted use.  You know when you need to hold the edge of your sleeve when you pull a jersey or jacket on so the sleeve doesn’t ride right up your arm?  THIS is the finger that does 90% of that work!  Without it, this task is virtually impossible!

Use #4:
Holding pills.  Another one I’ve really taken for granted.  When you put a pill in your left hand and put the lid back on the jar you do so by clutching the pill with your ring finger and pinky while you put the lid on with your middle, index and thumb.  If your ring finger is munted like mine the pill just falls out and lands on the floor

It looks like most of the bruising is on the front knuckle (the one I originally broke) but you can see the top knuckle has swollen up a lot

The New Generation Marvel Wonder Woman 2010 featuring in the new Wonder Woman Marvel Comic in stores now. She has ditched the crap briefs, knee high boots and impractical bodice, much better!

My daily life consists of 2 iphones (work, home), 1 macbook (work), a fixed pc (work), PC laptop (home) and usually a bit of the ol telly, trying to fit in using the iPad ended up being a chore… which… kind of had me a little sad, why sad? because it felt like I was getting old wanting to cling to a laptop on the couch instead of a tablet. What this all told me is that I simply want my current gen iphones to be faster (re: gen4) much more then I want an extra device to skim websites or the main thing I ended up doing, playing Plants vs Zombie.

Until these things are as thin as and flexible like paper I think ill be staying clear. Phil how do you find yours? I’m guessing you have laptops too at home so it would essentially replace one of them when couch surfing?
