Someone did the same kind of comparison chart for the iPhone as well… 32 million units later…. and everyone said the iPod will be a flop… 200 million units later… so I guess we’ll see if anyone buys it.
@baron I didnt want to replace the cigaweed potd :p
Anyway there is plenty of flaming going around about the ipad and it’s comparisons with the ipod or iphone but the reality i happen to think both of those items were needed a lot more then a large touch screen (everyone has a phone and the iphone was revolutionary). Sure it is handy but if push came to shove would you get a ipad over a iphone (if you didnt have a phone, or more so had a feature phone), or would you say if you had a iphone or similar smart phone get this as your main laptop/bigger internet device? — This of course excludes people with a, heaps of $$$ just falling out of their back pocket, and b, fanboys/people who want to look cool with no plan for true data/creative creating.
Do I think my parents would like this… probably until they saw the price tag. I see people saying ‘well stev isnt aiming for g33ks he is aiming for people who brought the ipod touch/iphone’ and I think this is true… I just dont think you need both so they could very well canabalise their own sales. More then anything I am disapointed, i desperately want some movement in the laptop space so that we can get something that is more a long the lines of mobile phone sleep/awake functionality. I want my laptop always connected to a mobile network just like my phone is, but i want it to manage power the same too, when we get this (similar to the proposed ipad 10hr usage/month standby) we will look back and wonder how we lived without it.
In fact I don’t think anyone even made jokes about the ThinkPad. I guess that word in isolation just has different connotations to when you combine it without something else. e.g. wordpad, notepad etc.
Okay I’m still staring blankly at this one can someone please explain?

Regarding the iPad joke, no feminists ever complained about the ThinkPad.
